A paddock full of familiar mascots.
SuperTuxKart’s drivers come with a world of their own. Many represent open-source projects, while the story brings Tux, Gnu and Nolok into the same adventure. The roster gives you a character to recognise on the track before you begin thinking about a favourite kart.
| Driver | Project connection | From the character guide |
|---|---|---|
| Tux | Linux | The penguin hero who sets out to rescue Gnu. |
| Gnu | GNU Project | Tux’s mentor, travelling on a flying carpet. |
| Sara | OpenGameArt | The Mascot Kingdom’s ruler, driving a snowmobile. |
| Wilber | GIMP | A cameraman covering the kingdom’s kart races. |
| Puffy | OpenBSD | A racer with a dream of buying a submarine. |
| Suzanne | Blender | A driver whose ambition began in childhood. |
PICK A FAMILIAR FACE.
Choose someone you like for your first few races. Keeping that choice steady makes it easier to notice how your own driving changes from lap to lap. Spend a session learning a course before changing the kart, difficulty and control setup all at once. A repeatable starting point gives your practice a little structure.
THEN MEET THE REST.
The starting grid has a personality of its own, from familiar faces to colourful rivals. Nolok is the story’s villain; try the available drivers and find the one you enjoy taking onto the course.
